Genre: A seamless fusion of heavy dissonance and melodic depth, Cohen_noise blends elements of metalcore, post-hardcore, and alternative metal.

Formation Year: Cohen_noise was formed in early 2016.

Hometown: The band’s original lineup met in Murray, Kentucky, while attending school there.

Origin Story: Coming from different musical backgrounds but sharing a passion for heavy music, the members of Cohen_noise initially set out to create a project focused on raw aggression. Over time, their sound evolved into a dynamic fusion of heavy breakdowns, haunting melodies, and cinematic atmosphere. Their commitment to pushing the boundaries of their genre continues to shape their musical identity.

Musical Influences: While each member has their own distinct tastes, the band finds common ground in groups like Deftones, Slipknot, Loathe, Sleep Token, Thornhill, and Reflections. These influences contribute to their unique balance of crushing heaviness and soaring melodic passages.

First Song Written: The first song Cohen_noise ever wrote was Bad Habits. Initially released as a standalone single, it later found a home on the reissue of their debut full-length album.

First Gig: Their live debut took place at Eclipse Nightclub in Puryear, Tennessee, a now-defunct venue. The band organized their first show with several local acts, making it a memorable night for the regional heavy music scene.

What Sets Cohen_noise Apart: Unlike many bands in their genre, Cohen_noise fluidly shifts between styles, creating an immersive experience for listeners. Their latest record exemplifies this approach, contrasting the crushing breakdown in Safety In Pills with the delicate guitar and synth work in Nova. Their commitment to organic transitions between aggressive and melodic elements distinguishes them from their peers.

Future Plans: Currently writing new material, Cohen_noise is focused on refining their sound and expanding their reach. They are set to hit the road this February for an East Coast tour with Glasswaves and Coma Waves, followed by a special Midwest run where they’ll perform their latest album in its entirety. In May, they will join The Wise Man’s Fear for a short tour, with additional April show announcements on the horizon.
