Band Bio: King Falcon

King Falcon

Band Name: King Falcon. The name continues the bird theme from my previous band, The Inoculated Canaries, chosen on a whim without any particular reason.


Band Members:

  • Michael Rubin – Writer, singer, lead guitar

  • Joe Conserva – Bass

  • Dipayan "Dip" Chakraborty – Drums

  • Sergio Ripa – Guitar


Genre and Style: Alternative Rock.

King Falcon

Formation Year: King Falcon was created in 2019.


Hometown: We're all based in New York City now, but our drummer, Dip, was born and raised in India.


Musical Influences: David Gilmour and Larry Carlton.


Origin Story: I began by playing Guitar Hero as a kid, then transitioned to a real guitar and fell in love with the instrument, exploring its nuances.

First King Falcon Song Written: "Shake! Shake! Shake!"


First Gig: Our first gig was scheduled for April 2, 2020, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 shutdown. We finally played our first show over a year later, by which time our debut album was in the mixing stage.


Milestones and Achievements: We've released several singles and a full-length album, and have been direct support for artists like Des Rocs and Sublime with Rome. Meeting fans who resonate with our music has been incredibly rewarding.


Unique Sound and Approach: Melody is central to our music; we aim for every song to be catchy. Our sound is guitar-driven with punchy drums, and we feature more guitar solos than many bands in our genre.


Future Plans: We're planning to tour extensively throughout 2025, release a few singles, and hope to release our second album by late fall.

Stories and Anecdotes: Once, we broke down in Fort Wayne, Indiana, due to a blown fuel line. We rented a U-Haul box truck with three seats and drove four hours to Cincinnati, all four of us crammed in the front. It was a fun experience.
