With the recent passing of Ozzy Osbourne on July 22, Zakk Wylde, Ozzy’s longtime guitarist and close friend, has stepped into a new role: torchbearer of the legacy. In a heartfelt tribute, Wylde wrote, “We have lost our brother,” echoing the emotion felt across the rock world.
Tribute Tour with Zakk Sabbath
This fall, Zakk is leading a special run of shows with Zakk Sabbath, his Black Sabbath tribute band. The tour will feature powerful renditions of Sabbath classics like “War Pigs,” “Iron Man,” and “N.I.B.” Scheduled stops include Brooklyn, Atlantic City, and Waterloo, among others. Support acts include Bonfire, Use Your Illusion, and Dark Label Society, creating a heavy lineup that honors the legacy of Ozzy and Sabbath in full force.
What’s Next for Zakk
While Pantera’s scheduled shows were briefly paused out of respect for Ozzy’s passing, Zakk is expected to return to the stage soon. Fans can also expect future projects from Black Label Society and possibly new solo material in the coming year. Wylde’s connection to Ozzy runs deep, not just as a guitarist, but as a brother and collaborator who co-wrote legendary tracks like “Mama I’m Coming Home.”

Zakk Wylde has never just been a sideman, he’s been Ozzy’s musical partner, emotional support, and on-stage anchor for decades. During Ozzy’s final performance, fans noted how Zakk stayed close, guiding and supporting him through every note. Now, his upcoming tribute shows feel like more than a concert, they're a living memorial to one of the greatest frontmen in rock history.
Tour, tribute, and tone, Zakk is doing what he’s always done best: playing from the heart.
Keep riffing.
