Origin Story

Full Throttle was born out of pure punk passion and a performing arts classroom in London, Ontario. Founders Max McGill and Evan Levite spent their lunch breaks blasting Bad Religion songs way too loud for school hallways, dreaming of taking their energy beyond the music room walls. When Max’s dad introduced them to drummer Kaelin Chase, whose own father had rocked the local scene years earlier, the trio clicked instantly, and Full Throttle roared to life in March 2020, just as the world shut down.

Sound & Influences

Taking cues from ‘90s pop-punk and skate-punk giants like Green Day, Blink-182, NOFX, and Pennywise, Full Throttle fuse infectious hooks with high-octane grit. While punk runs through their veins, their influences stretch far beyond the genre, early alternative acts like The Replacements and Hüsker Dü, some Led Zeppelin thunder, and even a bit of hip-hop flavor in Kaelin’s drumming. The result? Power Pop-Punk that’s catchy, raw, and impossible to stand still to.

On the Record

The band’s first track, “Lockdown,” became their unofficial anthem of pandemic-era angst, channeling isolation and rebellion through biting lyrics like “six feet apart or you’re six feet under.” But it was their third single, “Sh!tshow,” that really lit the fuse, pushing their streaming numbers into the tens of thousands and cementing their place in Canada’s modern punk circuit. To this day, it’s their ultimate closer, with fans shouting back every word before the final chord rings out.

Live and Loud

If there’s one thing Full Throttle is known for, it’s their unfiltered live energy. Their shows are fast, sweaty, and gloriously loud, packed with choreographed chaos inspired by 70s KISS performances and pure punk adrenaline. Whether they’re thrashing through a bar show behind a plastic shield (yes, that happened) or lighting up a festival stage, they live by their name: no half-speed, no holding back.

Their biggest highlight so far? All Your Friends Fest 2024, where they shared the stage with Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, and Billy Talent. Not bad for a trio that started out sneaking into a school music room.

Milestones & What’s Next

Winners of two FCLMA Awards (Youth Award and Punk Award), Full Throttle have gone on to open for legends like Finger Eleven, I Mother Earth, The Queers, Teenage Bottlerocket, and Badflower. With new music in the works and a four-date run with Teenage Bottlerocket this fall, 2025 is shaping up to be another milestone year.

In true punk spirit, their philosophy is simple: play hard, stay loud, and keep moving forward, full throttle.
